A 17-year-old girl was brought to us after a fall from the first floor of her house. She had sustained a severe injury to her spine and was unable to walk at the time of admission. X-rays and MRI revealed an L1 burst fracture with compression over the spinal cord. On clinical examination, she had paraparesis—weakness of both lower limbs—with significant difficulty in standing and moving. The family was deeply worried as her ability to walk again was uncertain. Given the severity of the spinal cord compression and the risk of permanent neurological loss, she was taken up for emergency posterior stabilization and decompression of the spinal cord
